NEWS:Gov Fintiri Flags-Off Upgrade, Rehabilitation of Secondary Health Facilities Across Adamawa.

In conformity with his campaign promise embodied in the eleven point agenda of his administration of restoring the loss glory of health sector in Adamawa, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has flagged-off upgrade and rehabilitation of the various secondary health facilities across the State.

Performing the foundation laying which begin with the construction of Out Patient Department (OPD), Maternity and Laboratory complexes as well as rehabilitation of theatre complex at Mubi General Hospital, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said the construction and rehabilitation of  the hospital become more compelling in view of its strategic location as an international gateway and the only health facility providing services to million of the citizens in the entire Northern Zone of Adamawa and Southern part of Borno States.

The Governor noted that coronavirus Pandemic has exposed the gross inadequacy of health facilities required to confront contemporary public challenges. 

He said his administration will commensurate provision and upgrade of health facilities in the state.

"The commitment of my administration in the provision of goods, better schools will just be in vain without commensurate provision and upgrading of Health facilities” Governor Fintiri said.

"Indeed, one of the cardinal objectives of my Administration is to change the negative narrative of Health Care service delivery in the State through the recruitment of frontline Health Personnel to man our Health facilities.

"In the days ahead, I will also be engaged in activities targeted at ensuring that Secondary Health facilities are empowered to provide unique services in accordance with International best practices" .

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said infants, pregnant women, indigent women and girls in the State deserved better health care delivery.

He assured that the project at Mubi General Hospital will be pursued vigorously and completed within six months.  

The Governor hints that in few weeks, his administration will commence construction of Mubi International Cattle Market with an abattoir and also International market alongside the great construction work ongoing at the State University, Mubi which is targeted to be the best in Northern Nigeria.

In his remark, the State Commissioner of Health and Human Services, Professor Abdullahi Isah noted that the upgrade of Mubi General hospital was timely, saying it came when there is expulsion population in Mubi town overstretching the health facilities. 

He appealed to the patient relatives and the community to exercise patience with the inconveniences that the contraction work may cause them at the hospital so as to allow the contractor meet the time frame of the contract.

In his vote of thanks, the Executive Chairman Mubi South Local Government Council, Alhaji Jingi Rufai thanked Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for fulfilling his campaign promises, construction and upgrading of health facilities across the State.

Adding that health care delivery is what the people of the State are yearning for over the years while assuring protecting the facilities and described health as wealth.

 In his goodwill message on behalf of the communities, the District Head of Mubi Alhaji Aliyu Isah Ahmadu lauded Governor Fintiri’s execution of people oriented programmes in the State.
