The Brønnum Lutheran Seminary Mbamba in Yola South LGA of Adamawa State has matriculated one hundred and sixty four students for the  2020/2021 academic session.

The matriculants include one student registered for Lutheran doctrine, 47 for Full Time Diploma (DMC), 19 Full Time Diploma (DCRE), 4 Post Graduate Diploma in Theology, 36 Degree B.A 1 CRS, 22 Degree BA 2 CRS Direct Entry, 23 Masters of Divinity (MDV) and 12 Masters of Theology (MTH).

Presiding over affirmation of New Students/Faculty, Commencement Service and matriculation of the new students on Monday at Jolly Nyame Hall in BLS Mbamba, the Archbishop LCCN and President Lutheran World Federation, His Grace Most Rev. Musa Panti Filibus lauded the management of BLS for embarking on laudable projects including construction of hostels and the expansion and equipping the Seminary’s library with updated reading materials and computers despite the lean resources of the institution.

Centring his exultation on: “Theological Institution as Stewardship”  at the 36th Commencement and Matriculation ceremony of BLS Mbamba, Archbishop Filibus explained that Theology is stewardship. He charged the matriculated students to be good ambassadors as many will hence sees them as teachers of faith regardless of the motive they join the Seminary.

Reading from the Gospel of St. Mathew chapter 13 verse 17, the LWF President enjoined the matriculants to use the knowledge they will acquire at the seminary, to make a difference at the larger community. And, urged them to begin to learn to be faithful and exhibit good character from the Seminary against after their graduation; explaining that good character is learned and practice at institution of higher learning. He said it is fundamental for the matriculants to be obedient to the school authority and their fellow students. 


In his remark, the chairman Governing Council BLS, Prof. Ambrose A. Zemba said that BLS Mbamba represents a universal set and therefore a place where parochialism is not expected. He therefore charged the new students to develop a broad mind required to succeed in an institution of higher learning and be disciplined; while calling on Parents and Guardians to pay attention to the work of their wards.

On his part the Provost Brønnum Lutheran Seminary Mbamba, Rev. Sekenwa Moses Briska,  Ph. D. revealed that besides its Diploma, PGD and Masters of Divinity programmes, BLS Mbamba has in 2020/2021 academic session introduced Masters of Theology programme. Adding, the Seminary is planning to introduce Management, Entrepreneurship, Educational Courses, Conflict and Peace and other relevant courses.

He call on the general public to assist the Seminary to upgrade and build hostels accommodation, classrooms, Computer (ICT) Centre as well as the Chapel as the population of the institution increased every session.
