NEWS:Gov Fintiri Lays Foundation For Construction of Some Sections At Ganye General Hospital.

In continuation with construction and  upgrade of health facilities in Adamawa State, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has laid a foundation for construction of some sections at Ganye General Hospital, Ganye Local Government Area.

Performing the ceremony Wednesday at the premises of Ganye General Hospital, Governor Fintiri said some of the sections to be constructed include Laboratory Complex, Paediatric Ward, Female Surgical Ward and the Theatre Complex.

Governor Fintiri explained that "General Hospital Ganye is one of the strategically located Secondary Health Facility which has a   wide   catchment area in the Southern Senatorial Zone".

Adding, "besides delivering Secondary Health Care which include surgical services, the facility will provide so much desired referral services to numerous   Primary Health Service Delivery Points across several LGAs in Southern   Senatorial   Zone.   

Governor Fintiri noted that "Strengthening Health Service delivery at the secondary level will lead to improved quality of Health care provision in addition   to   strengthening   the   ability   of   the hospital   to   provide   referral   services which is required to support Primary Health Centres and Maternities which are managed by lower cadre of staff in the health care system".

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri assured that his administration will continue to invest in the health   sector,  strive   towards   achieving optimal quality of health care in the State as well as   advancing   gradually towards Universal Health Coverage.

He thanked Non-Governmental   Organizations   for the role they are playing in Health service   provision in the State; this he said has complements the   efforts of Government towards improving Health   service delivery. 

Earlier in his remark, the Commissioner of Health and Human Services, Prof. Abdullahi Isa said that the administration of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has embarked on massive human developmental projects across the state which include construction and upgrade of health facilities. 

He called on the host community to give maximum cooperation to the contractor handling the project so as to meet the timeframe of the contract.

In their separate goodwill messages, the Member representing Ganye Constituency in Adamawa State House of Assembly Hon. Alhassan Hammanjoda and the Chairman Ganye Local Government Area Hon. Istifanus Habila thanked Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for completing road projects in Ganye started by the past administration and for embarking on new projects in the Local Government Area.

They appeal to Governor Fintiri to consider construction of some roads in Ganye town which include Market road linking Gang Warri' s palace. 

Meanwhile Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has commissioned Yalake Primary Health Clinic, Ganye which was built by Save One Million Lives Initiative in collaboration with the State Primary Health Care Agency.

The Governor inspected the state of the art facilities that can help to attend to patients at Primary Health Centre.
