Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri re-echoes Administration's commitment to strengthen Health Facilities across the State which is geared towards meeting the health needs of the citizens. 

This came to fore at  North-East Zone town hall meeting on COVID-19 vaccination held at the Banquet Hall, Government House Yola.


The Meeting was organized by the Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19, in conjunction with the National Primary Health Care Development Agency to discuss ongoing COVID-19 vaccination in the country and chart a new course of protecting the society against the dreaded disease.
The meeting which brought together Governors and stakeholders from the six States in the zone has deliberated on issues inline with the principle of community engagement towards empowering people with correct information on the Covid-19 vaccine.

Speaking through his Deputy, Chief Crowther Seth, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri commended the leadership and staff of Primary Health Care Development Agency in the State for their efforts at ensuring a wide acceptance of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The ATM Governor regretted the vaccine resistancy in the first dose which according to him was as a result of misinformation in the public space reiterating that the COVID-19 vaccine is safe.

Furthermore, he reiterated his readiness to reposition the health facilities in Adamawa amidst the pandemic to meet the health needs of the masses, even as he promised to utilise the media in informing the public on the need to avail themselves for the vaccine.

The Chairman, Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, represented by the Minister of Everything, Dr. Muhammad Mahmoud Abubakar charged the key stakeholders to remain resolute in mobilizing their community members to get vaccinated against the pandemic.

He thereafter, advocated the need to always observe the preventive measures to include; washing of hands, wearing of face mask, use of hand sanitizer, social distancing among others.

In their separate contributions, the Minister of Health Dr. Osagie Ehanire and the Executive Director, National Primary Health Care Development Agency Dr. Faisal Shuaib, lauded Adamawa State Government for their swift response against the COVID-19 noting that it was made possible under the purposeful stewardship of Governor Fintiri.
The stakeholders further applauded the Federal Government for the demonstration of true leadership by its successful response to COVID-19 in Nigeria.

While admitting that COVID-19 has proven to be the greatest health threat  to humanity, they implored Nigerians to avail themselves for the first and second dose of the vaccine to be fully protected against the pandemic.

High point of the event was drama presentation depicting the importance of receiving Covid-19 vaccine, technical session, and questions and answers.
