Deputy Governor, Chief Crowther Seth has expressed shock over the deplorable state of Government Secondary School Numan, stressing the need for timely intervention to change the ugly narrative.
He frown at the situation while on a familiarization visit to the school necessitated by the collapse of a Hostel that claimed the life of a student.
The structures is now a threat to the lives of both the students and teachers, while near absence of furnitures among other instructional material has continued to hinder smooth learning activities.
As the said Government School in Numan suffered neglect from the successive administrations, the collapse of a Hostel on 4th June, 2021 drew the attention of the Fresh Air Government.
The poeple oriented Government led by governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri regretted the incidence that claimed the life of a student, Harka Yinasim.
The deputy Governor Chief Crowther Seth who was at hand in GSS Numan in company of the leadership of the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development among other stakeholders to see things for himself is shock with the sad commentary in the school, wondering how on Earth, quality learning will take place in such atmosphere.
He therefore, expressed optimism that with the purposeful leadership of Governor Fintiri, the bad narrative will change for better.
Earlier, the Deputy Governor was at the family residence of the departed student to condole the family, regrettinf the unfortunate incident, urging the parents to see it as an act of God.
The father to the deceased Zaphania Zachariah appreciated the Deputy Governor and the State Government for identifying with them, noting that the visit has comforted them.
He died at the age of 14.
