NEWS:BLS Yola Matriculates 178 Students For 2022/23 Academic Session.

The Brønnum Lutheran Seminary (BLS), Yola has matriculated one hundred and seventy-eight students for 2022/2023 academic session. 

Those matriculated includes 53 students registered for Diploma in Christian Ministry, 18 students for Diploma in Christian Religion Education, 65 students for Bachelor of Arts CRS I, 24 students for Bachelor of Arts CRS II, 2 Post graduate Diploma in Theology, 5 in Master of Divinity and 11 in Master of Theology.

Presiding over the 38th Commencement Service/Matriculation Ceremony of the BLS Yola, at the Jolly Nyame Hall, the Archbishop Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN), His Grace, Most Rev. Musa Panti Filibus in his homily said he was optimistic the future of the Church is bright with the number of young men and women matriculated in the Seminary.

Represented by the Vice Chairman LCCN, Rt. Rev. Peter Bartimawus, the Archbishop Musa Panti Filibus explained that what qualified someone  to be in the seminary are sense of call which the matriculants must be Children of God; story of strong faithfull witness; and uphold Jesus as their Mother. 

Reading from the book of Isaiah 6:8, the Archbishop encouraged the matriculants to be faithfull and let Jesus Christ be their example. He added that their educational qualification is not enough to qualify them to be Theologians, but in addition to learning the word of God, while guaranteeing the matriculants quality education and word of God in the BLS.

In his speech, the acting Provost, BLS Yola, Rev. Timawus Linus Giyap disclosed that the institution has recorded achievements in establishment of Junior Day Secondary School to carter for the children of the institution's staff, students and that of the immediate community; formed BLS Alumni with interim EXCO in place who have contributed to the provision of a block of three classrooms at the BLS and the institution is growing in adminission statistics by year recording 178 matriculants in 2022/23 which supersede the total of 120 matriculated in 2021/22 academic session.

While appreciating the Church, Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, Lutheran World Federation and German National Council for their tremendous support to the institution and appealing for more support from the Church, individuals and the general public, the Acting Provost assured that the matriculants will be moulded accordingly by the qualified lecturers and staff of the BLS. 

He enjoined the matriculants to concentrate on their studies and to always remember that as Theologians they will be caught in between serving God and Humanity.

The Brønnum Lutheran Seminary, Yola was established in 1984 and is an affiliate of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria for Diploma in Christian Religious Education and University of Jos for the Bachelor of Arts in Christian Religious Studies.
