The 72 regular monthly Coordinating Meeting  Is an avenue by which the State Ministry of Water Resources gets to interact with its partners and Non Governmental Organisations NGOs working in partnership with the Ministry across the State in order to achieve goals on the areas of partnership.

In an opening remark, the Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Water Resources, Engr. Michael Medugu welcomed participants and urged them to take their jobs seriously. He said that the Ministry is the custodian of all the projects in the State that is why it will not allow any NGO to be independent.

However, the State WASH Sector Coordinator, Geologist Sajo Umar who is incharge of Coordinating the activities of all the NGOs in the State in his address cautioned all to be up and doing this year as a new approach will be employed for proper monitoring and evaluation of projects and activities across the State. He announced that there is going to be a monthly report of activities and projects of every organisation in order to avoid any irregularities. He said that every organisation must have a forcal person who will be called upon to project or present when the need arises adding that that will help to keep track of every project or activity.

Dr. Beatrice, the newly posted WHO Emergency Officer for Borno, Adamawa and Yobe States who is on a familiarisation visit and her crew had the opportunity of attending the meeting as all relevant issues on water and health were discussed accordingly.

This is the first monthly meeting for the 2023. The Agenda for the meeting was the review of 2022 flooding in the State and the way forward.
