Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has on Thursday received First Class Chiefs and Emirs in the state on Eld il Kabir Sallah Homage at the Presidential Lodge Government House, Yola and banned the felling and burning of trees for charcoal.
The Governor who lamented the increase in burning trees for charcoal in the state said the measure taken by the Government is to protect the environment against deforestation which is causing perennial flooding.
 

Governor Fintiri charged traditional rulers and Local Government Chairmen to ensure their subjects comply with the order as it is for the benefit of the general public. He disclosed that his Government will provide necessary agricultural inputs to boost farming activities in the state.
 


While thanking the royal fathers for paying him Sallah Homage, Governor Fintiri stressed that he will not take the last four years of his administration for granted. He said that he has started appointing competent people who will champion the course of his new developmental policies.
Ensuring the safe guard of the lives and properties of the citizenry, Governor Fintiri reiterated that his renewed security architecture will give the state better protection against criminals to allow the citizens sleep with their two eyes closed.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri called on the royal fathers to take charge of their domain and give necessary cooperation to fight perpetrators of crime in the state. Admonishing that security is everybody's business.
 

Earlier speaking the former Vice President of Nigeria, Alh. Atiku Abubakar who represented the Lamido Adamawa HRH Dr Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa said that the First Class Royal Fathers' Sallah Homage is the affirmation of the royal fathers loyalty to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
 

He thanked Governor Fintiri for resuming the old age long Sallah Homage which he said was interrupted by COVID 19 Pandemic.
 

The Emir lauded Governor Fintiri for the developmental stride in the state. Calling on the Governor to carry everybody along now that election is over.
 

Among the First Class Chiefs and Emirs who paid the Sallah Homage are Hamma Bachama, His Royal Majesty Daniel Shaga, Hamma Batta Homun Alhamdu Gladson Teneke, Kwandi Nunguraya HRH Kurhaye Dishon Dansanda, Emir of Mubi HRH Alhaji Abubakar Ahmadu and Gangwari Ganye HRH Umaru Adamu Sanda.
Meanwhile the Members House of Assembly led by the Speaker, Rt Hon. Bathilya Wesley were also at the Government House for a Sallah Homage.
The Speaker assured the Members' support for Governor Fintiri's led administration.
 

Similarly, the Judiciary led by the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Hapsat Abdulrahaman who were also in Government House Yola for the same mission, appreciate the Governor for provision of welfare to the Judiciary.
Responding, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri assured that the executive will work harmoniously with the Judiciary even though they work independently. He assured to provide necessary support for the interpreter of law arm of government.
