Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has reiterated the commitment of his administration to fight poverty in the state, which he said is the stumbling block between the people and opportunity.
Governor Fintiri disclosed that his administration will build a kind of state that by the time he leaves office, the state will reach its enviably position.The Governor said this Tuesday while receiving the people of Batta Chiefdom from Demsa Local Government Area on congratulatory visit at Government House Yola.
Describing the people of Demsa as his political friends, the Governor said whenever he sits and talk to the people it, gladden his heart. He lauded the people of Demsa for having uncompromising stance during election period, saying if the people love a candidate, they will vote for him overwhelmingly.
The Governor who expressed his joy over the visit assured to execute the projects he promised the people during his campaign tour in the area.
Governor Fintiri reiterated that those he will appoint in his government are people who will take the state at heart and will work for the interest of the state.
He called on the people to support the PDP government, stressing that the party remains the best in the provision of dividends of democracy. He stated the PDP Governors have transformed the lives of their citizenry in their respective states.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri charged the people of Batta Chiefdom to work together to ensure that there is peace in the Chiefdom as his government is working harmoniously with Hama Batta to ensure that lasting peace is restored in the Chiefdom.
Earlier speaking, the Chairman Demsa Local Government Area, Hon. Wanekam Wesley Fwa thanked Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for carrying the people of the area along in his administration and salute the people of his LGA for not disappointing the Governor at the poll. He thanked his people for the overwhelming support they are giving his administration.
Stating the mission of the visit, Hama Batta HRH Alhamdu Gladson Teneke who was represented by Chief Dauda Teneke said they were in government House Yola to congratulate Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri over his victory for second term in office.
He disclosed that in Batta Chiefdom, the people are united without discrimination from the Royal Father. He assured Governor Fintiri their support and loyalty all the time while lauding his led administration for the giant stride he achieved in developing the state.
Speaking on behalf of the Maya communities of Bidoma Development Area of Demsa LGA, Mr Peter said Demsa is Governor Fintiri's second home having he started developmental projects in their communities. He express optimism that the projects which governor Fintiri started in Maya communities will be completed before he leave office.
