Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has presided over swearing in of 23 new Honourable Commissioners, making the total of 24 Commissioners with the Attorney- General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Afraimu Jingi who was earlier sworn in. The Governor charged the new Commissioners when he  said, you were chosen among millions to eschew corruption and be ready to work for the interest of the State.


"Having been chosen, from amongst millions of good hands and brains which Adamawa State has in reckless abundance, you must therefore be committed and fair in the discharge of your duties", Governor Fintiri said.
"You must eschew corruption and corrupt tendencies. I must caution early that the call that you just answered is a call to service."
"It isn’t a call to riches. If all you desire is riches, you are in the wrong place and my free counsel to you is to voluntarily ship out before I ship you out".  


Governor Fintiri, Thursday at the Banquet Hall Government House Yola said that his administration has prosecuted effectively the eleven point agenda of his first tenure and has received applaud across the world.
 

According to the Governor, the second term is a consolidation phase aimed at building on the foundations already laid.
He said to achieve that, the 11-Point Agenda has been recalibrated and rechristened - the 8-Point Agenda.  Stressing that the team his new government is building now must have the courage, determination and intellect to consolidate the gains and build a sustainable future for the people and the dear State. 


While congratulating the Commissioners, he assured them necessary support to carried out their functions effectively. As he call on them to make their best with the available resource that will be deployed to them.


Earlier, the Oath of office and allegiance was administered on the new Commissioners by the Commissioner of Justice and Attorney General, Barr. Ephraimu Jingi.


In a vote of thanks on behalf of the new commissioners, Hon. Abdullahi Prambe thanked Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for finding them worthy to serve in his administration.


He assured their unflinching support and loyalty to Governor Fintiri led administration while promised not to disappoint the confidence the State have on them.


The new Commissioners and their portfolios include Barrister Wali Yakubu;
Youths Development and Sports, Dr. John Ishaya Dabari; Commerce, Trade and Industry and Augustina Wandamihya; Finance.


Others are Usman Abdullahi will head Special Duties, Tijjani Maksha; Livestock and Fisheries, Umar Garba Pella;
Education, Prof. Finchiwa David Jatau; Agric and Abdullahi Adamu Prambe; Housing and Urban Development
Also in the list, include Joab Haggai Sahma; Land and Survey, Ibrahim Minjinywa Yayaji; Local Government Affairs, and Bello Hamman Diram; Rehabilitation, Reconstruction and Reintegration.


Chief Felix Tangwami is now the Commissioner of Health and Human Services, Iliya James; Entrepreneurship Development, Ibrahim Haruna;
Mineral Resources and Kallamu Musa Mohammed; Transport Development.
Also Adamu Atiku; Works and Energy, Aloysius Babadoke; Couture and tourism; Emmanuel Piridimso; Budget and Planning, Mrs Nedo Geoffrey Kofulto;
Information and Strategy.


The rest are Mr. Titus Solomon, Rural Infrastructure and Community Development, Anthony Brina Wunfe; Women and Social Development, Mohammed Sadiq; Energy and Natural Resources and Ayuba Audu Tanko; Water Resources.
