Members of Adamawa State House of Assembly, House standing commitee on Public Relation, Public Service and Electoral Matters have paid a familiarisation visit to the Executive Secretary, Muslim’s Pilgrims Welfare Commission in his office.
Chairman of the committee, Honourable Bulus Kantonmon Naphthah, stated that the aim of the visit is to have an insight into activities of the Commission, thier success stories, challenges and proffer solutions that are geared towards supporting present Government's administration.
While briefing the Committee, the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Malam, Abubakar Salihu, said " the Commission is committed in ensuring provision of safe, effective and efficient services to pilgrims. He added that some success stories recorded by the commission are access to official vehicles at the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, establishment of hajj camp with facilities in Yola international Airport, publication of a module which will serve as a guide to instructors who educate and give orientation to intending pilgrims, ongoing construction of road linking to Airport for easy conveyance of pilgrims without hitches by administration of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, amongst others.
Lastly, Malam Salihu, informed the committee that the Adamawa State Governor have recently bagged an award of excellence as the best supporting Governor by the Independent Hajj reporters, While the Executive Secretary earned award of best enlightened and educated pilgrims in 2023 Hajj exercise.
