Dignitaries, families and friends from all walks of life graced the Thanksgiving service in Honour of Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley Mava'Ama Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly.
The Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN) Hong, District join Honourable Bathiya Wesley in a Thanksgiving Service to celebrate the success of their son.The event took place Sunday, 10th September, 2023 at Hong Local Government Area.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri congratulated the Celebrant on his Elevation to Speaker, saying his impact, dedication and service to Adamawa state is an inspiration to many.
The Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Fintiri who was represented by his Deputy Professor Keletapwa Farauta expressed joy and gratitude to the people of Hong Local Government for trusting in their son, re-electing him back to the State House of Assembly and thank those who find time to celebrate with the Celebrant.
His Excellency Ahmadu Umaru said this day is very special and important in the life of any believer, as its afford an opportunity to offer gratitude to God for what he has done and will continue to do in his life and the lives of his people and the State at large, especially now that God has elevated him to another level.
Fintiri reminded the gathering to unite and work together for better Governance now that elections are over saying, Adamawa State remains our no one project despite differences in Political Parties.
The Chairman of the occasion Engineer Solomon Andrew Dacree appreciated and gave thanks to God for the emergence of Bathiya as the Speaker. He believed that Hon. Bathiya has the capacity to deliever for a greater Adamawa. He urged Hon. Bathiya to remain a role model to the youth of Hong Local Government and the citizens across the State, advised that he should put God first before any other thing because his elevation in life shows God' blessing upon him. "I will always ask the almighty to guide and give you strength and wisdom to direct your path in order to carry on with the task given to you as people's mandate".
Reverend Amos Eliasha, the Bishop Arewa Diocese who is the Guest Speaker took the scripture reading from the book Luke 17:11-19 with the topic: "Thanksgiving attracts Favour." He said as a believer one should understand that to give thanks with a heart full of gratitude glorifies God. Let's learn to do so at any giving time of our lives. He reminded Christians that as ambassadors of Christ, they have divine duty of offering prayers, praise and Thanksgiving to God.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Resident Pastor, Rev. Simon Yohanna commended the Speaker, Hon. Bathiya Wesley for showing coming before the Lord to present his sacrifice of Thanksgiving for the success attracted to his life. He encouraged the Hon. Speaker to be law abiding, humble, loyal and apply wisdom in all his dealing adding that life in politics is vast. He advised him not to be drunk with power but lead in the way that will please his creator.

Speaker, Bathiya Wesley appreciated God for his journey in Adamawa State politics more especially in Hong constituency. He commended the citizens of the State and the support he enjoyed from the Fresh Air Governor. "God has been faithful to me I have come to realise that my success is nothing without putting God first." Said the Speaker.
He reassured that he will not rest, until he deliver on the mandate of serving humanity entrusted him by God without fear or favour and he solicited for more prayer and support from the faithfuls.
