The Federal Government has organised a one day workshop for the creation of Nigeria's platform for Local Border Authorities along Nigeria Cameroon International Boundary.

The workshop was held at Banquet Hall, Government House Yola, on Wednesday, 13th December, 2023 with the theme "Transforming Borders from Barriers of Separation to Bridges of Co-operation and Integration."

The workshop was attended by  Chairmen of the State Border Committees of the Six Frontline States along Nigeria and International Border of Adamawa, Borno,Taraba, Benue, Cross River and Akwa Ibom as well as Local Government Chairmen, Traditional Rulers amongst others.
 
The Host and Deputy Governor Adamawa State, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta during the forum said, Government will continue to work towards a secured and peaceful Border regime to guaranty Economic Prosperity, Security and the well being of the citizenry.

Farauta explained that the engagement will pave way for Transborder Co-operation between Nigeria and Cameroon, she revealed that out of 2100kms of the Nigeria Cameroon Boundary, Adamawa shares about 600km stretch, spanning over nine out of the 21 Local Government Areas of the State.

There were paper presentations and goodwill messages from the participants, followed by the nomination of Professor Kaletapwa Farauta as the Chairperson Forum of the States Boundary Committees.
