The Commissioner Ministry of Works and Energy Developmemt has in the early hours of today received some Journalists in his office for an interview regarding the ongoing roads projects within and outside the state capital.
The two term Commissioner, Ministry of Works and Energy Development, Hon. Adamu Atiku Abubakar started by appreciating the efforts of His Excellency RT. Honourable Ahmadu Umaru Fintri for giving infrastructural development a priority considering its impacts on socio-economic developments. He added that the developments that people are seeing today in the state are in line with the campaign promises of His Excellency.
Honourable Adamu maintained that his Ministry has recently embarked on another land mark symbolic life changing projects namely: The Mubi roundabout flyover, 20.8 km Adamawa Super Highway, Saminaka huge storm water drains which over the years has been causing perennial flooding particularly during the rainy seasons which also has resulted in substantial lost of lives and properties.
In the same vien, the Commissioner stated while reacting to the issue of poor drainage system in Bole that,the issue has already been addressed because the contract was awarded to Messrs Triacta Nigeria Limited with all the necessary plans and there is no way that the contracting company will embarked on on a projects under the supervision of his Ministry without providing adequate drainage system along both sides of the road.
In another developments, he noted that his Ministry is going to embarked on awareness by including community people as task force to enlight people about the importance of using pedestrial cross over in the state because they have been constructed to avert accidents on speed lanes.
Regarding the recent budget in the State, Hon. Adamu stated that infrastructural development is fundamental to economic growth and there is alot of advantages attached to it that is why his Ministry is at the fore most of His Excellency 's 8 points agenda as he promised the people of the state. He added that his Ministry is saddles
with the responsibilities of constructing new roads, maintenance and rehabilitation of existing roads and there is no local Government in the state that his Ministry has not constructed atleast a minimum of 2km road in the past four to five years Adamu said.
Therefore, it is of course obvious that the urban renewal agenda of his Excellency has been achieved because the the recent infrastructural developments has open up the city and local Governments to potential investors, enhance travel time, improve productivity, reduces traffic, as well as security and safety he mentioned.
He lastly urged the people of Adamawa to continue praying for the Governor for good health, strength, wisdom, and more courage to ensure that Adamawa state is transformed like, Lagos, Pothacourt and their likes. "He is the best in the history of Gongola and Adamawa State because he is building the Adamawa of tomorrow." Adamu said.
