Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has encouraged christian faithful, to pray, stand firm in any trials, have self discipline, be strong and have faith in the country amidst challenges faced.
Governor Fintiri made these words of encouragement, while addressing the Congregation at the 36th Annual Convention of the Gongola Baptist Conference in Yola, with this year theme; "Newness in power, purpose and progress".
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri who was represented by his Deputy Professor Keletapwa George Faurata, led Members of State Executive Council on Friday, to the Annual Baptist Convention held at the deeper Life Unity Camp Ground Kwanan Waya.
While at the event, Governor Fintiri tasked christains for unity, patience, as well as prayers for leaders for the development of the land.
He encouraged the faithful, to stand firm in any trials, intimating that as christains they should be known for self discipline, to be strong and to have faith amidst the current challenges faced in State and the Country at large.
The Governor emphasised, Government's support in all aspects of Governance, saying it cannot relax until appropriate approach of citizens safety and their well being are certain.
Earlier in his remarks, the president, Gongola Baptist Conference Reverend Dr. Joel Manzo described the challenges facing the country as unfortunate, he called on the Federal Government to protect the citizens from the dangers out there.
While the clergyman was speaking on good Governance and political matters, he also advised Christians to support the developmental strides of the Fintiri's administration so as to pave way for more better services and advancement.
He encouraged the faithful not to loss hope, but look up to God for direction and divine intervention inspite of Nigeria's problems.
Prayers were offered for the State Government for good Governance, God's strength, wisdom, knowledge, Good Health, and good direction, as well as peace and unity in the State.
The Nigeria Baptist convention affords the church an opportunity to come together and encourage each other for their spiritual and physical upliftment.
