Two Days WASH Sector training on Risk Communication and Community Engagement for NE Emergency Response.

The training described the components of a pathways, models and how it can used to inform or adapt Risk communication and Community Engagement RCCE programming. It is also designed to help sector partners consider the context, challenges, enablers and intermediate effects of programming at different levels and plan RCCE accordingly.
In his opening remarks the Adamawa State WASH Sector Coordinator Umar Sajo Aliyu (MNR) encouraged the sector partners to use the training effectively for proactive and timely intervention in case of any emergency.

Dr Uzoma Ugochukwu and Amarachi Susan Igbokwe spoke on various topics ranging from Scope and purpose of risk communication, a mix of strategies and tactics, public communication, media communication, social media, mass awareness initiatives, IEC, health promotion, social mobilisation and interpersonal communications.
