Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Professor Keletapwa George Faurata, has tasked indigenous Bachama people to take agricultural activities very seriously in other to ensure food security in the area.

The Deputy Governor stated this on Saturday, in Lamurde Council Area, during the 4th Kwate annual festival under the kingship of his Royal Majesty Dr. Daniel Ismail Shaga, OON, Hama Bachama, Kpawo Nomwe - Gilonge Diya.

The Kwete cultural festival is an annual traditional event celebrated by the peoples of Bachama Kingdom, as well serves to promote the cultural values and heritage of the people.
Professor Keletapwa George Faurata, who addressed the indigenous people of Bachama Kingdom also conveyed warm greetings of his Excellency Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, noting that the State Government will always remain  committed to support the cultural activities in the State in other to promote culture as well as peaceful co-existance amongst it's citizens.
Farauta said, "We are must grateful to God for keeping us as a People, State and Nation to witness yet another Kwete cultural festival. I want to thank our Royal Father, His Majesty Dr, Daniel Ismail Shaga, for the peace we are enjoying in Bachama Kingdom, we pray that your reign will bring prosperity and development to our people."

She urged, the subjects to retained socio-cultural, economic as well as political characteristics of Bachama Kingdom, in other to contribute to the societies in which they live.
In a remark, Commissioner in Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mrs. Neido Geoffrey Kofulto,said the Kwete festival is an annual cultural event which featured wrestling contest  that is important to Bachama Kingdom, as well as attract sons and daughters in diaspora.
In their separate contributions, the Chairman Lamurde Council Area Bulus Daniel and that of his Numan counterpart Christopher Sofore, revealed that the festival is primarily organised after the harvest period to give thanks to the spirit and gods for a good harvest as well as good health of the people through out the immediate past raining season.
