CHILD MARRIAGE: Women Affairs Ministry and UNICEF Holds Sensitisation Awarenesswith Stakeholders.

Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development in collaboration with UNICEF holds sensitization awareness session with traditional and Religious leaders on the topic Ending Early Marriage in Adamawa State at Dantsoho Hotel, Yola.

The Honorable Commissioner, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Wunfe B Anthony in her opening remarks welcomed the participants and pointed out that the gathering is focused on discouraging the harmful practice of child marriage. "Today we stand united in a powerful movement that priotizes the rights, the dreams and the very potential of our girls." She said.

Child marriage is a global issue, stealing the childhoods of millions of girls every year. It denies them of Education, exposes them to health risks and robs them of the  opportunity to shape their own destinies.

Today we can create a word where every girl can dream big, pursue ambitions and shape a brighter future not as a child bride but as a leader, an innovator and a change maker. Let us come together and share ideas, strategies and solutions and be empowered to make a real difference.
