The Adamawa State Government in collaboration with International Rescue Committee held a Town Hall meeting to seek support for effective delivery of people oriented services as well as its sustainability.

The meeting, which was held at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Yola, on Tuesday, attracted Government officials and Development Partners.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, represented by his Deputy Professor Farauta, attended the  town hall meeting with the theme, " Building Sustainable partnership for Inclusive Development," 

Speaking during the event, Governor Fintiri has assured the International Rescue Committee of government's commitment for continuous support while providing an enabling environment for growth and development.

Responding Country Director IRC Babatunde Ojei noted that the organization is committed to responding to the world's most pressing humanitarian crisis and assisting individuals in surviving, recovering as well as rebuilding their lives.

According to the country director Babatunde the current humanitarian response spans across Borno, Adamawa, Yobe, Zamfara, Katsina as well as emergency response in both Kogi and Plateau States. 

He noted that the programming approach is integrated, Multi-Sectoral programming, as well operate in IDP camps and host communities, describing it as appropriate and under the guidance of State priorities. 

The Country Director said Adamawa is home to IRC stressing that the level of partnership has been tremendous.
