On 25th November 2015, The Hon. Commissioner Ministry of Women Affairs, Social Development and Integration, Alhaji Aliyu Bello Tola briefed media on the line- up of activities to mark the 16- Days Activism in the state at the conference Hall, Ministry of Health.
However, this year’s global theme for the day is “peace in the Home, Peace in the World: Make Education safe for All”. The Hon.Commissioner stressed that these 16-Days of Activism is a campaign period for violence against women and girls, men and boys.
He intimated the media on the line- up of Activities to mark the day in the state, and how the Ministry intends to sensitize the general public more on the campaign which has been schedule on 26th November to 10th December, 2015. Matters On HIV AIDS Prevention, Reproductive Health, Voluntary health Services, how to protect persons with disabilities from violence and copping mechanisms.
Similarly, the Ministry shall liaise with Religious leaders on their roles in the society, pay advocacy visit to State House of Assembly, and finally have discussions on Human Rights Day as well as the launching of the Referral path –way for service providers.
Alhaji Bello Tola solicited for support of the media to ensure successful observance of these days in the state.
