NEWS:Jimeta Community Wants District Head Sacked

The Community of Jimeta in Yola North Local Government Area has called on  Adamawa Emirate Council to remove their District  Head, Alhaji Mohammed Baba-Paris and replace him with a God afearing and competent  leader.

Addressing the community at a Press Conference in Yola on Tuesday 17^th of November 2015, Alhaji Musa Garba, said, the call for the removal of the District Head was viable for peace to reign in the area. He alleged that the community had lost confidence in the leadership style of Alhaji Baba Paris henceforth, want him removed adding that it has been agreed by the community after a wide consultations. 

It could be recalled that community wrote a petition to Adamawa Emirate Council on 5^th day of November, 2015 calling for his removal as thus;

“I wish to inform you that as member of the Adamawa State Peace Committee and person vested with the protection of lives and property in the state…. I wrote and distributed the petition on behalf of the people of Jimeta Community demanding for the removal of Alhaji Mohammed Baba-Paris as their District Head, on behalf of the community, I appeal to the Royal Highness  Lamido of Adamawa, Alhaji Muhammadu Barkindo to appoint for us a God fearing and competent leader.” Garba said.

Alhaji Garba explained that among the reasons why the community wants the district head removed includes; his lack of respect and sympathy for elders, for religious leaders and zero approach in sustaining peace in the community.

When contacted over the situation, Baba-Paris, the District Head confirmed that he were aware of the petition adding that such type of petition is normal.
