The Adamawa State Government, having
realized this, decided to organize a two
day workshop in conjunction with the State Ministry of Information, titled,
“CAPACITY BUILDING FOR STRATEGIC AND EFFECTIVE INFORMATION MANAGEMENT FOR INFORMATION
/PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICERS IN THE STATE.”
A unique initiative, first of its kind in the state, the workshop
set out to equip trainees with the technical knowledge on online journalism,
bringing to fore the laudable activities of the Government thereby eliciting spontaneous
feedback thus bridging the gap between leadership and the led and enhancing better service delivery.
All resource persons were wonderful and
vibrant. They made very rich presentations that taught participants about social network sites (e.g
Face book, Twitter, Google YouTube etc) Blog
creation and handling etc
Comrade
Ahmad Sajoh, the Hon. Commissioner himself a resource person, made a
thrilling presentation on Basic writing skills. Participants were taught the
importance of defining an audience
before writing, making an outline to enable the writer be
focused etc.
The outstanding thing about this workshop is that apart from
teaching/training Participants on how to work, the tools for the job were also given. The latest Samsung Galaxy tab A is really a wonderful piece.
As a participant, I really learnt
a lot and I believe all
participants did. I am more ICT compliant. I want to commend the Adamawa State government for the
vision and foresight.
To the Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Information, Comrade Ahmad
Sajoh and his management team we say
thank you, and we look forward to more of such innovations so that many people will benefit from it.
Hon. Commissioner sir, we hope to continue tapping from your wealth
of experience.
May God continue to bless
you with more wisdom to paddle the ministry and state at large to greater
height. For sure, with knowledge and armed with a masterpiece like the Samsung Galaxy
Tab A, the sky is no longer the limit,
but the starting point.
