Sports: Judo Game Gets Recognition in Adamawa

Adamawa State  is indeed  blessed with  talented minds that will make Bindow' change objectives possible and  to make  the  state proud during his tenure in office. This is can be evident in the  just concluded 1st  Edition  of the Abdulmumuni Njobdi Judo
Competition that took  place on the 18th -19th of  March, 2016 at Ramat College Yola.

The event brought together young athletes from 6 Local Government Areas of the state.  These  Local Government Areas includes ; Yola- North, Yola-South, Lamurde, Numan, Demsa and  Fufore LGA.

However, there were about 37 athletes in attendance. More so, the event was organized into various  weight categories ranging  from 30kg, 54kg,  73kg, and 80kg. During the event, Hon Iro  Njobdi who spoke  on behalf of the sponsor and  Chairman of the Association Abdulmu-meen Njobdi appreciate  the  effort  of  the sponsors for organizing  the event. Hon  Njobdi  described combat games as an encouraging one, he called  on other  Chairmen of various  Sports Associations to organize  programmes like this very one because of its direct  bearing on the youths. He supported the athletes  with  a Token gift.

In the  same vain, the representative of the Executive Director of Sports Mr Shall Yaduma thank the Chairman Judo Association Adamawa State for  bringing the youths together adding that the sports family is  always  ready to promote sporting activities in the state. 

More so, the Patron of Judo Association in Adamawa State Ahmed Tuta welcome the development, he stressed that sports in general have suffered negligent  in the past adding  that by organizing such  events sport will regain it's past  glory. 

He described Judo as an excellent  event whose techniques is advanced and therefore  encouraged  the youth to imbibe the spirit of togetherness.

The  overall  winners of the  event is Yola -North. Best  female  Judoca Grace Dauda from Numan Local Government. Best  male Judoca Jerom Sambo  From Y-North Local Government.

Present at the occasion are :Mr Alex Dauda founder Judo Association, Patron Judo Association, Ahmed Tuta Management Staff Sports Council and some Sports  lovers.
