Members of the National Assembly has commended the present administration under Governor Muhammed Umar Jibrilla for its foresight and purposeful leadership in piloting the affairs of Adamawa state.
The Deputy Senate President Senator Ike Ekwerenmadu who made the commendation at a Dinner organised in honour of Senator Binta Masi Garba Senator representing Adamawa North in the upper chamber of the National Assembly lauded the efforts being made by Governor Muhammed Umar Jibrilla in developing Adamawa state within a shortest period while in office as a Governor of the state.
The Deputy Senate President explained that majority of the Senators and other members from the house of representatives were in Adamawa State to joint Senator Binta Masi Garba for celebrating her thanksgiving services as distinguished Senator for the past one year in service to the nation at the National Assembly.
Senator Ike Ekwerenmadu called on Adamawa Elites to join hands with Governor Muhammed Umar Jibrilla in order to provide democracy dividends to the electorates; he pointed out that he knows the capacity and capabilities of senator Bindow since they were at the upper chamber of the National Assembly, stressing that Governor Bindow is going to deliver as his words always match with his actions, saying that Adamawa people were very lucky to have such a leader and also described him as a visionary and purposeful leader to the core.
Also speaking, the Speaker of the House of Representatives Honourable Yakubu Dogara said the members of the National Assembly were in the state to condoled the government and people of Adamawa state over the unfortunate incidence of the Boko Haram activities in some parts of the state and other states in the North East sub region; and also to advised Adamawa state Government to engage in Agriculture so as to reduce over dependence on monthly federal government allocation.
In his speech Governor Muhammed Umar Jibrilla said his administration is poised to bring development to the people of the state as promised during campaign. He explained that the change mantra of APC will be fully implemented during his tenure in office. The Governor also informed visiting members of the National Assembly that Adamawa state would soon receives over Eighty Thousand Internally Displaced persons and deportees from the Republic of Cameroon and central African Republic and called on the federal government and other donor agencies to come to the aids of the state.
Also in his good will message, the Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports Barrister Solomon Dalong directed the state Commissioner of Youth and Sports to present a proposal of the multi million Naira abandoned sports complex along Numan road to his office with immediate effect for possible completion of the project in view of its importance to the development of youths and Sports in the country.
In his vote of thanks, The Deputy Governor Engr. Martins Babale thanked all those that attended the Dinner party in honour of Senator Binta Masi Garba and other Senators and urged the members of the National Assembly to work as a team for the sustenance of Democracy and the overall development of Nigeria.
