Briefing the STFI Members at meetings, the Executive Chairman Adamawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency Dr. Abdullahi Dauda Belel said the essence of the emergency meeting is to strategize and perfect out state containment plans towards the forthcoming rounds of Immunizations campaigns in north eastern region.
Presenting the situation report from national polio emergency operations center, The state coordinator W.H.O pharmacist Iyobosa Igbinovia said the proposed rounds of Immunization are expected to be synchronized with neighbouring countries of Chad, Niger, and Cameroon republic.
Part of the containment measures in the state, the coordinator said about 1685 children in motor parks and busy markets in all LGAS bordering Borno State have been fully immunize.
The proposed five rounds of Immunization is scheduled to take place as follows:
1st round 27th -30th August 5 States: Borno, Yobe, Adamawa Gombe, & Taraba bOPV
2nd round 17th -20th Sep 18 States: 11 high risk + Adamawa, Taraba, Gombe, Nasarawa, Benue, FCT & Plateau bOPV + IPV (selected LGAs in Borno )
3rd round 8th -11th October NID bOPV
4th round 29th Oct – 1st Nov 18 States: 11 high risk + Adamawa, Taraba, Gombe, Nasarawa, Benue, FCT & Plateau bOPV
5th round 19th -22nd NID bOPV + IPV (Borno state wide )
One of the resolutions reached at the meeting was that STFI to direct the newly elected council chairmen in to convey and chair LGA Task Force, commit financial support to the program, take part in supervision and chair evening review meeting which is one of the key components of the Abuja commitment.
