The FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello has urged Muslim faithful across the country to use the occasion of this year’s Maulud celebration to pray for the continued progress and unity of Nigeria.
The Minister who made this call in his Maulud Nabiyy Message Monday admonished Muslims to reflect on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), which remains the best example to be followed.
He reminded Muslims in the country of the life of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) that is built on selflessness, sacrifice, patience, modesty and piety.
Malam Bello reiterated that Islam is a religion of peace and therefore tasked Muslims to adhere to that cardinal principle of peace, which the religion is built upon.
The Minister noted that Maulud celebration marks the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), which calls for sober reflection and spiritual rejuvenation, as the Prophet has remained a role model worthy of emulation for all generations.
His words: “As you pray for the nation, I enjoin you to also pray for its leadership, for God to continue to guide, protect and give the President, Muhammadu Buhari the strength and the wisdom to steer the affairs of the country”.
