1st December, 2016 marks one year of existence of Emergency Transport Scheme in Adamawa state. The Technical Steering Group of the scheme enumerated the successes, achievements and activities undertaken this year.

Who is also a member of the Technical Steering Group (TSG) for ETS in the state said so far ETS has recorded a remarkable achievements in the state, by providing humanitarian services to pregnant women, women with complicated problems during labour Particularly in rural communities through.
He further commend the efforts of NURTW and all the stakeholders involved in ensuring that ETS succeed in Adamawa state.
In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry for women Affairs, who is also the Chairperson of the ETS Steering Group, Hajiya Maisaratu Bello applaud the efforts of all ETS members for their tireless efforts in saving the lives of women in rural communities.
In addition, a representative of Society for family health (SFH), also a member of ETS Mr. Benny Pinon, enumerated what have been achieved since the inception of ETS in the State. Thus;
-Cordial relationship between drivers and health workers
- The drivers were trained on how to give first aid to pregnancy women before taking them to clinic.
-Some drivers donated blood to some pregnant women.
-so far, about eight thousand women ( 8000) benefited from the programme.
Lastly, Transaid programme manager Alhaji Ismaia Balogun, presents commendation letter to the Chairperson of the ETS Steering Group, State Chairman National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Society for family Health (SFH) and all the esteem members of the group.
