Adamawa State Ministry of Health Saving One Million Lives Program for Results has commenced training of health workers on Lives Saving Skills.
Life Saving Skills is an Essential Obstetric and Newborn Care Training for Health Care Providers. The objective is to educate and trained to proficiency in the skills needed to manage diate postnatal period, and in the identification, management and referral of complications in women and newborns, increase number of trained health personnel that will provide qualitative ANC services and to increase proportion of deliveries attended by skilled personnel in both public and private health care facilities.
At the end of the training, the participants are expected to have improved knowledge on how to manage complications of late labor using appropriate interventions, identify and manage foetal distress and repair cervical lacerations, perform manual removal of placenta etc.
The training is expected to last for 21 DAYS, in which the first 14 Days focuses on theoretical aspect while the remaining 7 days serve as practical demonstrations.
