State Ministry of Health in collaboration with EU-UNICEF has conducted  three days stakeholders meeting to validates state health policy.
Declaring the training open, the Hon Commissioner Dr Fatima Atiku Abubakar urged the participants to remain focus and deliberate positively inline with the national guidelines of policy validation. This policy when produce will serve as a comprehensive guide to the state towards the successful implementation of health care service delivery

Dr. Fatima added that the state has been implementing policies and strategies approved at the national level, and experiences has shown that not all the segments of the national policies and guidelines are relevant to the state. The impact of insurgency in the health sector prompted us to find new ways of building resilience and strengthen our capacity to respond to the different needs of our people.
She finally call on all stakeholders involved in the validation process to focus on indicators that will contribute towards attainment of the national goal of universal health coverage.

Earlier in his presentation entitled understanding of Adamawa state health system the Executive Chairman Adamawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency Dr. Abdullahi Dauda Belel said the state has successfully established platform for full implementation of primary health care under one roof (PHCUOR) hence developing policy framework that will create links in all levels of health, enhances referral system and encourage community engagement in health care service delivery is welcome development.

In his welcome address, the Director health planning research and statistics pharmacist Mansur Suleiman said the drafted state health policy is premised on the development agenda set in the vision 20:2020. The proposed policy if successfully implemented, the state will provide qualitative and affordable health care services.
All stakeholders both public, private and civil society organisations were in attendance.
