The Adamawa State Executive Council has approved the sum of Two Hundred Million Naira as it's counterpart fund to enable the state execute more rural roads in Adamawa State.
This was disclosed by the Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Information and Strategy, Comrade Ahmad Ibrahim Sajoh along side Commissioners of Rural Infrastructure and Community Development, Alhaji Umaru Hassan Pakka , Youths and Sports, Barrister Suleiman Aliyu Zuma, and the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education Abubakar Mahmud while briefing Journalists at the end of the Fourteen Weekly State Executive Council Meeting presided over by the Deputy Governor Engineer Martins Babale at the council chambers of the Government House Yola.
The Commissioner explained that the amount was part of the Two Hundred and Fifty - Six Million Naira counterpart fund to enable government access Fifty Million Dollars Grant for the state.
According to Sajoh, the funds had enabled the Adamawa State Government to construct about Two Hundred Rural Roads across the state, explained that the Second phase of RAMP 2 project will commence following the approval of the counterpart fund by the state.
He also explained that other International Agencies are assisting in building Peace in the state, maintained that Search for Common Ground, British Council and other United Nations agencies had impacted positively in the development of Adamawa State, pointing out that the state Government appreciated their efforts.
On his part ,the Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Youths and Sports, Barrister Suleiman Aliyu Zumo announced the commencement of the Nigerian National League Female segment where Adamawa Queens have performed creditably well, stressing that the Council has approved Five Hundred Million Naira to enable work resume at the abandoned Sports Complex along Numan road and assured that the project will be completed by the present Government under Governor Muhammad Umar Jibrilla.
He also said that the State will host the Youths Sports Federation of Nigeria Tournament in the state.
Also on his part, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education Alhaji Abubakar Mahmud explained that the EXCO have considered a proposal you UNEDO in collaboration with National Education Development Council Abuja for intervention in some selected schools in Adamawa State.
The State Executive Council also received a presentation for the supply of Five Hundred Thousand Tricycles by National Capital Based Company.
