Governor Muhammad Umar Jibrilla made the commendation while declaring open a Two Day Federal and States security administrators ' meeting ( FSSAM ) held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House Yola.
Represented by the Secretary to the Adamawa State Government Dr Umar Buba Bindir, the Governor assured the security agencies that government will continue to support them in order to bid of raking - off crime in the society and urged the participants to come up with a formidable advises to government which would in the turn pave way for lasting solutions to peace.
Governor Jibrilla explained that Adamawa State Government had been collaborating with all security agencies in the state in an efforts to maintain peace, pointing out that government had been providing substantial logistics support to the agencies to ensure that citizenry enjoyed relative and Permanent peace in the state.
He revealed that government had also provided relief materials worth millions of Naira to victims of clashes and survivors of various degrees of attacks across the state.
The Governor however commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his giant strides in maintaining peace and security in the North East region, stressing that Adamawa State Is calm and stable at present.
In her key note address, the Chairman of Federal and States Security Administrator's Meeting (FSSAM ), the Permanent Secretary special services in the office of the SGF Dr. (Mrs ) Amina M. B. Shamaki (mni) stated that the Herdsmen / Farmers clashes is a major security challenges that needs to be X-rayed by all stakeholders in all the States of the Federation especially states with encroachment on grazing routes.
Dr Amina Shamaki also advised Herdsmen to embrace new Morden Techniques of Animal Husbandry, explaining that the model ranching farms should be introduced by states and local governments and private individuals.
She also called on states to set up peace and security committee comprising relevant stakeholders responsible for meditating and resolving Conflicts between Herdsmen and Farmers .
Dr. Amina Shamaki then called on politicians to learn lessons from the past and avoid over heating the polity unnecessarily towards the 2019 general election.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Permanent Secretary security and special services Government House Alhaji Ahmadu Baji said the Security Meeting was organised to brainstorm security issues by the security experts in the Country in view of the prevailing security challenges facing the nation .
The participants had also paid a courtesy call on His Royal Highness Dr. Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustafa at his palace where they condoled the Royal Father over the passing away of the Chief of Staff Government House Yola Alhaji Abdul Rahman Abba Jimeta and the Wife of the Former Governor Late Zainab Murtala Nyako who lost their lives recently.
