The FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, has described media as an indispensable instrument of democratic governance that has contributed much to the development of the Federal Capital Territory.

 

For this reason, the Minister expressed the readiness to partner with the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) Channel 5 Abuja, and other media organizations to ensure that the residents and indeed, all Nigerians are kept abreast of developments in the Territory.

 

FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, who gave this indication when the new General Manager of the television station, Hajiya Fatima Abbass Hassan, led her management team on a courtesy visit to his office on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, expressed confidence in the ability of the new leadership to take the station to a higher level.

 

Malam Bello while congratulating Hajiya Fatima, commended NTA for its unique capacity building and careers progression plan which sees young officers grow to take up responsible positions in the Authority.

 

NTA, the Minister observed has raised a fine crop of people heading the NTA station. He thanked the management for the support FCTA has enjoyed over the years, while also pledging to continue to support NTA Channel 5, and indeed the media in the discharge of their functions.

 

Earlier, the GM, Hajiya Fatima Abbass Hassan, had commended the Minister for his astute administrative quality in his ability to manage human and material resources for the overall development of the FCT. She also expressed the resolve of the management of the station to stand by the Minister in the discharge of his duties to the people.

 

While thanking the Minister for his continued support for the station, Hajiya Fatima appealed to him to support the station in its efforts to effectively cover the Territory, especially in the area of its day to day operations.
