The Adamawa State Government has promised to implement the proposed Thirty Thousand Naira National Minimum Wage agreed upon by the Tripartite Committee .
Governor Muhammad Umar Jibrilla stated this while addressing the organised Labour during a peaceful rally on the demand for the implemanation of the Minimum wage at Government House Yola recently.
Governor Muhammad Umar Jibrilla explained that what ever agreed upon by the Federal Government will be implemented by his administration without any reservation, As far as I am concern what ever the Federal Government agrees to my Government is ready to pay, I cannot do otherwise, “” he emphasised.
The Governor also said that his Government has paid salaries up to date and don’t have any with workers of Adamawa State, stressing that his government have been able to off -set the arrears of Local Government Workers, Staff of the Primary Health Care Development Agency as well as Primary school Teachers after collecting a Loan of Five Billion Naira from the Bank.
He also stated that Government Abdullahi Labour have a very good synergy in the state, pointing out that his government is Labour friendly and urged workers for their understanding and continuous support for the overall development of the state.
In their separate remarks, the representative of the National President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Ibrahim Walama and the state Acting Chairman of the NLC Comrade Jermier Gyakwan have commended Governor Muhammad Jibrilla for paying workers their entitlements and assured that Labour will continue to Partner with the Government for the overall development of Adamawa State.
The Labour leaders also described Governor Muhammad Umar Jibrilla as a Comrade in arms who cares about the progress and Development of Labour and the entire workforce of Adamawa State.
