Welcome To The Official Blog Of Adamawa Ministry Of Information

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has refuted rumours circulating that he has sacked Local Government staff employed by the previous administration.

In a press statement signed by the Director General Media and Communication Government House Yola and made available to Journalists reads in part;

"It has become pertinent to draw the attention of the public to the misleading  and erroneous information making the rounds to the effect that the State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has sacked Local Government workers from April 2016".

The information is totally baseless, unfounded and untrue. For the avoidance of doubt, Governor AUF only directed Local Government Councils  to clean up their payrolls of all ghost workers beginning from April 2016 when Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs took over the payment of Local Government across the state.

It has been discovered that names were inserted into the payment of Councils arbitrarily without due process. The decision of the Governor,  is purely in the interest of the Local Government Councils that have been made insolvent by over-bloated wage bills which have hindered development across the Local Governments.

It is also pursuant to the Governor’s zero tolerance for corruption which reduced Local Government Councils to conduits for corrupt Government Officials.
