Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has said that the two weeks his administration gave the Jimeta based cult group, Shila Boys to repent from their terror activities has elapsed on Wednesday, 12th June.


The Governor said this Tuesday while Jimeta Community paid him a thank you visit for appointing their son, Ahmed Bashir as Secretary to the State Government.


Governor Fintiri who said that security of life and properties of the people of Adamawa State is the top priority of his administration has sent an invitation to Shila Boys to have a meeting with them on Wednesday, June 19 at the Government House Yola. This the Governor said is another strategy adopted by his administration to persuade the Boys to repent after which rehabilitation will be followed. However, should the Boys continue with their nefarious activities full wrath of law will be applied on them.


The Governor maintained that there is no hiding place for criminals in the State and equally any person who harbour or is sponsoring any crime in the state will be dealt with according to the law of the land.


With regard to the illegal structure erected by individuals on land own by Government, the Governor said they will be demolished especially the ones at Government Girls Secondary School Yola and Jimeta Ultramodern Market for the benefit of all people of the State.


The Governor reiterated that the Farmers-Herders clashes in Numan Federation will come to an end as he has started meeting with the leaders of the groups.

 
And the Boko Haram activities which affected Northern Adamawa State, Governor Fintiri said he is meeting with the Security Chiefs to find a lasting solution to the security challenges in the area. 
It could be recalled that Governor Finitiri in his maiden broadcast on June 6 has gave Shila Boys two weeks to repent which elapsed on 12th June. The Governor stormed their hiding place in “Mini Sambisa” Forest along Jimeta Bypass with security personnel to remind them the ultimatum given to them.


Earlier on, the District Head of Jimeta, Alh. Inuwa Baba Paris who led the delegation of Jimeta Community on a thakn-you visit said that their visit on Governor Fintiri was to thank him for appointing their son, Bashir Ahmed as SSG Adamawa State. He added that the Governor has appointed the right man maintaining that the SSG is a hardworking, transparent and knows his job.
The District Head called on his subjects to support the present administration in respect of their political differences because the Governor is for all people of Adamawa State. Adding that, Jimeta community is united which was why the delegation comprised of all ethnic groups, religion leaders, youth groups, stakeholders and people from different political parties in Jimeta.


Alh. Baba Paris thanked Governor Fintiri on the security measures he has taken so far and the result he said is yielding positive result as they can now sleep both their eyes close. He further appealed to the Governor to provide necessary support to the security agencies in the State especially the Police to enable combat criminal activities.


In a goodwill message, the Member representing Yola North in Adamawa Sate House of Assembly, Hon. Hamidu Sajoh Lekki appealed to his people to support the present administration and as a legislator, he will ensure there is harmony between the two arms- Executive and Legislature- so as to move the State to greater height.


In a vote of thanks, the Chairman Peoples Democratic Party in the State, Barr. A. T. Shehu thanked Jimeta Community for the support they are giving to the ruling party, appealed to them to pray for the present administration and they should remain united so that dividends of democracy will reach them.
