Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has received thousands of text book donated to the State by Learn Africa Publishing Company for Primary, Junior and Secondary Schools.


Receiving the books on behalf of Governor Fintiri in Government House Yola, the Chief of Staff, Prof. Maxwell Gidado, SAN thanked Learn Africa Publishing Company who were formally known as Longman Publishers Limited for the text books they donated to Adamawa State, which he said the company has  fulfilled one of its cooperate responsibility in helping the less privileges.


Governor Fintiri added that pupils and students of the State will gain a lot from the books because of their qualities and the categories, for pupils in the Primary and students in the Secondary Schools; stressing that it will go a long way in improving the standard of education in the State.


On behalf of the Governor he received the text books in good faith and it is going to be used for the purposed they were donated for, the Chief of Staff said.   


Presenting the books on behalf of Learn Africa Publishing Company to Adamawa State, the Sales Representative of the company, Emmanuel Yerima said the books donated was an initiative of Learn Africa to assist less privileges in the society. Adding that the Company is not only a publisher that sales books to public or private schools but they have moral obligation to assist by giving free books to schools through its Resources Development Initiative.


Mr. Yerima who said the books were in thousands, were donated free to Adamawa State and he is presenting them to the State on behalf of the General Manager, Alh. Bala Hassan. The books he explained comprises of English Language, Mathematics and teachers’ guide among others for Junior and Senior Secondary schools as well as Primary Schools.
