The Exercise we have just witnessed opens another chapter towards unveiling our over-all development Agenda for Adamawa State.
Let me congratulate all the candidates of our great Party, the PDP for emerging victorious along with their Vice Chairmen and Councilors, to whom they will subsequently administer the Oath of office.
Let me also commend the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) for conducting an election that has been widely acknowledged to be the most free, credible and fair in recent time.
It is also to the collective credit of the key players, such as contestants, security agencies and the voters and political parties that the electoral feat was accomplished without so much hitch.
It is only fair to say that there can be no voting exercise without hitches but the ability to overcome the challenges, as the State electoral body has demonstrated, is what makes the difference.
Out of mischief and “bad-belle politics” some politicians have made blatant attempts at twisting the truth about the elections by denying that it was free and fair when the same cannot be said about previous Local government elections conducted under their watch.
The results of the elections and the landslide victory secured are clear indication that the people of Adamawa State are happy with proactive Agenda of the Fintiri led Administration to tackle the problems of Adamawa State resulting for bad Governance.
To the Newly Sworn-in Local Government Chairmen, the people have spoken and their voices have been heard.
You should therefore be prepared to go back to your various councils to deliver the dividends of Democracy which they are yearning for.
In doing so, you should cultivate zero tolerance for corruption, embrace and carry everyone along, keeping in mind that this is exactly what they elected you to do.
Furthermore, you should all be involved in the day-to-day running of your Local Governments and avoid unnecessary trips outside your areas of jurisdiction, except for important official engagements.
My Government will not tolerate a situation where Chairman abandon their responsibilities at will in the pursuit of vanity.
You are also to identify the peculiar needs of your people in line with the Eleven Point policy thrust of this Government.
Finally, let me commend each and every member of our Party for the fruits of success we are enjoying today. We are all collectively responsible for this success through our efforts and loyalty.
This is just a tip of the ice-berg as far as the reward of our labour is concerned.
I enjoin us to continue to be loyal to the Party, while supporting and praying for the Government to succeed.
Thank You all.
