In continuation with his urban renewal programme in Adamawa State, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has flagged off construction of 3.8km roads in Jada Town,  the administrative capital of Jada Local Government Area.
Also flagged off was rehabilitation of 0.4km washout section along Jada-Mbulo road.



While flagging off the road construction Tuesday, at the District Head's Palace Jada, Governor Fintiri said Local Government Areas in the State have remained a glorified villages due to diversion of Local Government Councils fund.
Adding, his administration has come to salvage Local Government Areas, which was why he gave them complete autonomy.



Governor Fintiri charged Local Government chairmen to take advantage of the control of their resources to provide dividends of democracy at the grassroot, while stressing his administration's commitment to closely monitor resources of LGAs to ensure judicious use.



The Governor revealed that soon Government Secondary School Jada will receive a new facelift as part of schools earmarked in the State for complete renovation. He warmed the contractors on substandard construction work, saying his Government will not accept work below specification and time frame.



Breaking down the road construction project, the Commissioner Ministry of Works and Energy Development, Alh. Adamu Atiku disclosed that roads to be constructed in Jada include Palace Road 650m, Cattle Market Road 1.050km, Prayer Ground Road 1.32km and Duta Era Road 800m making a total of 3.8km roads.



He said the roads were awarded to MSSR Triacta Nigeria Limited at the cost of one billion, two hundred and fifty six million, five hundred and twenty thousand, one hundred and ninety six naira, seventy eight kobo (N1,256,520,196.78kb) with duration of eight months.



While the rehabilitation of washout section 2q along Jada Mbulo Road, 0.4km was awarded to ATB Barak Service Nigeria Limited at the cost of guy hundred and three million, six hundred and sixty thousand, two hundred and fourty nine naira, sixty three kobo (N203,660,249.63kb)with the duration of eight months.



He assured his ministry supervision to meet the required standard.



In their separate remark, the representative of MSSR Triacta Nigeria Limited, Engr. Gassam and ATB Barak Service Nigeria Limited thanked Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for awarding the contract to them.



They assured to meet the required standard and timeframe, as they applauded their host communities for according them maximum cooperation.



Speaking on behalf of the community, Dr. Mahmud Yahya Jada applauded Governor Fintiri for embarking on road construction across the state despite its lean resources.



He thanked Governor Fintiri for his laudable projects and programmes which include free education, free WAEC/NECO examinations fees among others which he said have relieved parents from financial burden amidst pandemic while assuring the community cooperation with the contractors.
