Adamawa State Executive Council has approved the upgrade and renovation of some sectiins in Ganye and Numan General Hospitals as well as Song Cottage Hospital.
The approval was made at the fourteenth Adamawa EXCO meeting for the year 2020 presided by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri. 


Briefing news men after the meeting, Wednesday at the Council Chambers in Government House Yola, the Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Information and Strategy, Dr. Umar Garba Pella said the EXCO has approved the upgrade and construction of some sections at the Numan General Hospital, Ganye General Hospital and Song Cottage Hospital at the total cost of five hundred and thirteen million, eight hundred and nineteen thousand, ninety two naira, eighty three kobo (N513,819,092.83kb).


According to the Commissioner, in Numan General Hospital, the Council has approved construction of laboratory block and Paediatric wards to Green Synergy Limited at the sum of forty nine million, nine hundred and ninety nine thousand, nine hundred and thirty nine naira fifty kobo (N49,999,939.50)  and forty nine million, nine hundred and nine eight thousands,  two hundred and ninety four naira thirty kobo (N49, 998,294.30) respectively. 



While Habibad and Building Construction Limited was awarded the contract for construction of Numan General Hospital Female Surgical Ward at the sum of one hundred and fourteen million, eight hundred and seventy thousand, ninety four naira,  forty kobo (N114,870,094,40) and Mortuary at the cost of nineteen million, nine hundred and forty-four thousand, eighteen naira,  seventy five kobo (N19,944,018,05kb).


The Commissioner said in Ganye General Hospital, Yaks Solutions Limited has been approved by the Council to construction of Out Patient Department (OPD) at the cost of sixty nine million, eight hundred and sixty thousand, ninety eight naira, sixty one kobo (N69,860,098.61kb) and renovation of administrative block at the cost of nine million, eight hundred and eight thousand, six hundred and eighty five naira forty five kobo (N9,808,685.45kb).


Also in Ganye General Hospital, Dr. Pella said the Council has approved construction of Laboratory Block to Taris Nigeria Limited at the cost of forty nine million, nine hundred and ninety eight thousand, four hundred and ninety nine naira, fifty five kobo (N45,998,499.55kb).


The spokesman further explained that in Song Cottage Hospital, the Council has approved construction of Male Surgical Ward to RSR Investment Nigeria Limited  at the cost of forty four million, nine hundred and ninety two thousand, two hundred and sixty three naira, nineteen kobo (44, 992,263,19) as well as construction of Laboratory Block and Male Ward to Unico Construction Limited at the cost of twenty nine million, eight hundred and ninety three thousand, three hundred and eighty naira (29,893,380.00) and seventy four million, four hundred and fifty three thousand, eight hundred and twenty naira, forty four kobo (N74,453,820.44) respectively.


Dr. Umar Garba Pella said this was derived in line with the policy of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri led administration to reform the health sector and ensure that people have access to quality health facilities.



He added that this development is ongoing across the State while saying that the facilities will be manned by qualified man power as the Council has already approved the recruitment of qualified health workers which has already been done to fill in the vacuum in the health sector.
