Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri,  Tuesday said he will partner Tiddo yo Daddo National Alumni Association of General Murtala Muhammed Collage Yola in education development in Adamawa State.

The Governor urged the alumni of GMMC Yola to continue to impact positively with their leadership experience to those who are given the steering of leadership at different level.

Governor Fintiri disclosed this while receiving the old boys of Tiddo yo Daddo Association on a courtesy visit at Council Chambers, Government House Yola.

While lauding Tiddo Yo Daddo for their support in education development in the State, Governor Fintiri assured the alumni that his Government will give necessary support to the Association in their preparation for the centenary celebration of the school.

He disclosed that his administration will use the necessary resources at its disposal to develop the education section so as to guarantee the future of the youth. Revealing, GMMC Yola is among the schools earmarked for comprehensive renovation in the State. 

Governor Fintiri enjoined the alumni to observe all COVID-19 protocol in the course of preparation and during the centenary celebration, noting that the second wave of the virus is deadly.

Earlier speaking, the leader of the delegation who is the Chairman Adhoc Local Organising Committee, Tiddo yo Daddo National Alumni Association of GMMC Yola, Alh. Sa’adu Abubakar said they were in Government House Yola to laud Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his laudable projects in all the development sectors in the State especially in the education. 
He said in education sector, Governor Fintiri has successfully  renovated and constructed public schools across the state, enhance feeding regime in boarding schools, payment of SSCE fee to all final year students in public secondary schools, procure learning and instructional materials to public schools among others. 

He revealed that General Murtala Muhammed College has clocked hundred years of establishment in 2020. He said the centenary celebration was not held due the outbreak of corona virus pandemic. Adding that the alumni has schedule to celebrate the centenary this year.

Alh. Abubakar appeal to Governor Fintiri to support the organising committee for the centenary celebration in terms of logistics and funding, take responsibility of protocol among others. Aiding the celebration will soon commenced with series of activities.

He said the Adhoc LOC has put behind the infrastructure projects, estimated, at seven hundred million naira of which over one hundred million naira worth of project have been executed or ongoing.
