The Adamawa State Cash Transfer Unit has organised a 2-Day step down training on Household uplifting programme of conditional cash transfer  orientation  and beneficiary enrolment process. Held at KDD Hotel, Yola.
 

The enrolment process is geared towards building capacity of participants’ and guide them on how to implement the programme. Also, to ensure that the participants have an understanding of guiding policies, procedures and processes with a view to accurately sensitization and capture targeted beneficiaries registeothres. base for programme benefits.
 

Further more, The enrolment process provide a secured electronic platform for an end-to- end transfer, tracking and reconciliation of beneficiaries to ensure accountability and transparency.
 

The National Cash Transfer is an arm of National social investment programme under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, responsible for management of the conditional cash transfer to the poor and vulnerable Households in Nigeria.
 

Declaring the training open,   Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, represented by his Chief of Staff, Professor Maxwell Gidado SAN, commended Federal Government for uplifting the living standard of poor and vulnerable to feel, the impact of Government irrespective of political affiliation. He called on facilitators to be attentive  and put what they will learn into practice in their various organisations. 

 

In her remark, the National Programme Coordinator Conditional Cash Transfer Unit, Hajiya. Halima Shehu, stated that Adamawa State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding, to participate in the programme in the year 2016. How ever, the state cash transfer unit and local Government facilitators  team  became  operational in 2017,and enrolled 13, 269 Households to date 41,134 benefitting Households which is 149,272 individuals have been enrolled into the programme. She added that today’s activity is aimed at enrolling additional 23, 134 Households to bring the total beneficiaries of Adamawa State to 64, 268 Households who will be receiving #10,000 bi monthly. Halima affirmed that the programme is directly touching the lives of poor and  Vulnerable without Governments interference or political favour.
 

The National coordinator,  thanked Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintri, for supporting the programme. She warned facilitators to be careful in their selection of beneficiaries because they are being monitored by the  authorities concerned.
 

The ALGON Chairman, represented by Chairman, Madagali local Government,  Mr.Aiden Tsukom, appreciates Federal and State Government for supporting the  poor in society, he commended those in the field of Conditional cash transfer for doing a job well done.
 

Climax of the programme was presentation by a resource person on the topics “ Overview of enrolment steps, cash training services facilitators briefs on community, stakeholders sensitization  and guidance notes and strategies for mitigation of Covid 19,  enrolment  and community mobilisation  disclosure brief among others.
