The Adamawa State Executive Council has approved the award of contract for the construction of Demsa Cottage Hospital, transfer of counterpart funds to Multi Sectorial Crisis Recovery Programme for construction of Madagali township road, construction of Dumne cottage hospital perimeter fence and installation of solar power street lights in the state capital.
 

 

The approval was made, Wednesday at the fifth Adamawa State Executive Council  meeting for year 2022 that was presided by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri at the Council Chambers Government House Yola.
 

 

Briefing Government House Yola correspondents after the meeting, the Commissioner, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Dr Umar Garba Pella disclosed that the EXCO has proved the contract for the construction of Demsa Cottage Hospital to D & B Nig. Ltd at the cost of two hundred and seventy four million, five hundred and forty thousand, thirteen naira, ninety six Kobo (N274,540,013.96k).
 

 

He explained that the EXCO has also approved at the Demsa Cottage Hospital construction of 3 bedroom bungalow staff quarters to Kumbili Global Nig. Ltd at the cost of forty million, five hundred and fifty six thousand, three hundred and ninety four naira, fifty Kobo (N40,556,394.50k) while 2 bedroom semi detach bungalow construction was awarded to PRC Resources Ltd at the cost of forty six million, three hundred and eighty two thousand, ninety two kobo (N46,382,000.92k); six numbers of one bedroom apartments construction was awarded to Musa Kwaya Enterprises Ltd at the cost of eighty-eight million, two hundred and eighty two thousand, one hundred and sixty thousand, eighty-eight Kobo (N88,282,160.88k); and construction of the conttage hospital perimeter fence was awarded to Gumbili Global Nigeria Limited at the cost of thirty eight million, eight hundred and thirty four thousand, ninety-nine naira, eighty Kobo (N38,834,099.88k).
 

 

According to Dr Pella, the total amount for the construction work at the Demsa Cottage Hospital is four hundred and eighty-eight million, five hundred and ninety six thousand, seven hundred and sixty two naira, two kobo (N488,596,762.2k).
Also in his Press briefing, the Commissioner of Information and Strategy stated that the Adamawa State Executive Council has approved the award of contract for the construction of 3 bedroom bungalow staff quarters at Gulak Hospital to Faro Construction Company at the cost of  forty million, four hundred and forty thousand, six hundred and forty three naira, forty two kobo (N40,440,643.42); 2 bedroom semi detach bungalow to be constructed by Britley Nigeria Investing Ltd at the cost of forty six million, four hundred and thirty thousand, nine hundred and ninety five naira, twenty five Kobo (N 46,430,995.25k);  six numbers of one bedroom apartment was awarded to Musa Kwaya Enterprises Ltd to be consteucted at the cost of eighty-eight million, two hundred and eighty three thousand, one hundred and sixty thousand naira, eighty-eight Kobo (N88,283,260.88k); and construction of the Gulak hospital perimeter fence was awarded to Faro Construction Nigeria Limited at the cost of thirty eight million, six hundred and sixty two thousand, nine hundred and seventy four naira, sixty four Kobo (N38,662,974.64k).
 

 

He revealed that the total cost of the construction work at the Gulak Hospital is two hundred and thirteen million, eight hundred and seventeen thousand, seven hundred and seventy four naira, nineteen Kobo (N213,817,774.19k).
 

 

Dr Umar Garba Pella disclosed that the Adamawa State Executive Council has approved the transfer of five hundred million naira (N500,000,000) to the Multi Sectoral Crisis Recovery Programme (MCRP) as Adamawa State counterpart funding for the construction of Madagali township road.
 

 

He explained that MCRP is  a World Bank  programme implementation agency that response to crisis areas. He said that the MCRP has intervened in the Northern Senatorial zone of Adamawa State which was devastated by the activities of the Boko Haram terrorists. Adding that the MCRP has constructed about 39km Bazza-Mubi road which has been put to use, Michika General Hospital 2km road and the 5km Garkida access road.
 

 

He said that the Federal Government has already access the funding from the World Bank; the State Governments are expected to match the funding with matching grant, which Adamawa State is doing its part by approving the grant.
 

 

 

Dr Umar Garba Pella said that in the 5th council meeting for the year 2022, the EXCO has approved the supply and installation of solar power street lights at some selelcted roads in the state capital. He said that the roads include: Abdullahi Bashir, Government House Yola to 80 Unit Estate, Malamre Housing Unit; Jippu Jam round about in Yola town leading to the Underpass, head to Jimeta Shopping Complex and terminate at the Doubeli Junction.
 

 

The Commissioner said that the contract was awarded to MSSR Blue C. Nigeria Limited at the cost of four hundred and nine million, five hundred and fifty five thousand, one hundred and eighty five naira, forty six kobo (N409,555,185.46k). And, the contract is to be completed in three months.
