By Catherine Philip Jelani

The Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mr. Solomon Kumangar said that he is planning to set up an Online Radio station for the State so that the Ministry will not only be driving on policy matters alone because the information Officers are also reporters. Kumamgar revealed this when he granted audience to the Executive Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ today at his office. He said the Information Officers are supposed to be feeding reports from their various places of posting into a website which the Ministry doesn't have at the moment.

Mr Kumangar explained that; "because we are in a digital world, if we can not catch up then we will be definitely left behind. Therefore, we need the support and cooperation of the NUJ because this particular outfit is for its members.

Responding on the deplorable state of the State owned media houses as raised by the NUJ Chairman, Comrade Ishiaka Dedan, the PS said " the matter of reviving the State owned media houses has become so important with Gotel that have been the golfer is temporarily on halt... We are definitely going to fall back on Adamawa Television ATV." Adamawa Broadcasting Cooperation,  ABC is a powerful medium that I feel have been neglected for too long hence the need to reestablish it and bring back it's lost glory, he concluded.
