In an interview, the Director Public Health Ministry of Health, Mr. Isaac Kadalla told Adamawa Daily Reports that health has interplay with other departments. He said, for example the Livestock Ministry and the Ministry of Environment interplay one another.  Using Zoonotic diseases to back up his point, he said, " zoonotic diseases are diseases that are transmitted from animal to human and human to animal." This means that Ministries of Health, Environment and Livestock are key players.

Mr Kadalla explained the purpose of the training as an avenue to develop key Risk Communication Messages on Zoonotic Diseases that would be passed across to communities to mitigate the prioritized ones in the State such as Lassa fever, Rabbies, Anthrax, and Mpox.

Mr Kadalla is optimistic that everyone is ready to participate in the Risk Communication and Community Engagement; " everyone is ready to collaborate, the synergy is very strong and we are happy about what is happening here." He appreciated the efforts of the supporting Partners and the National Facilitators and urged the participants to take the workshop seriously.

Dr. Asunduwa Kwada Chagwa, the State Epidemiologist from the State Ministry of Livestock and Aquaculture Development told Adamawa Daily Reports that the training has been interactive from the beginning to the end.  He  wished that more of this workshop be organised. "I encourage all the line Ministries that were in attendance to begin to work together as one body and respond to any diseases outbreak or preparedness to make one health stronger and effective."  He explained the concept ' one health'  as responding to diseases that affects both human and animal living together in one environment." He said, that is why the Ministry of Health, Environment, Livestock and Aquaculture are involve. The State Ministry of Information and Strategy is also involve because information has to get to the people on how to prevent themselves from diseases.

It was a three day workshop held at Vortex Hotel and suits, Karewa GRA. From August 16th to 18th.
