The Women Entrepreneurs Nigeria, Adamawa State chapter paid a courtesy visit on the Hon. Commissioner Ministry of Entrepreneurship Development at his office, on 26th September, 2023.
It is a dynamic Organization committed to promoting women and empowering women in various sectors across the country, and with the aim to eradicate poverty, reduce violence against women and girls, reduce girls hawking and almajiri, community development.
While welcoming the Women Entrepreneurs Nigeria, Adamawa State chapter, the Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Entrepreneurship Development Mr. Iliya James, said the Ministry will continue to live in accordance with the responsibilities attached.
The Hon. Commissioner said, that Entrepreneurship improve well being of individuals, noting that when children, youth and women are well skilled and educated, it ease the chances of pursuing criminal and violent activities in the society.
James, reiterated that Government would remain commitment and its support for empowering the citizens, inline with Governor Fintiri's promises, stressing that issues concerning empowering of Women and Youths cannot be taken for granted, promising to continue working in partnership with organizations to ensure they enjoy the Devidents of Democracy.
The President of the Women Entrepreneurs Nigeria, Adamawa State chapter Maryam Mohammed Korau, shared the organization's vision and highlighted the impactful initiative they have undertaken. Maryam said, the organization envision a world where all women and girls have the opportunity to achieve financial independence through Entrepreneurship.
" It is a non Governmental Organization which aims at empowering women to be financially independence most especially the Northern women, we do lot of physical and online activities for women, we help in boosting women owned businesses and also teach those that don't have business, we value networking and believe that we can do better by supporting each other.
Our mission is to empower women and girls through training programs, seminars, and conference, so that they can be financially independent", the president Maryam Mohammed added.
Earlier, the Permanent Sectary Ministry of Entrepreneurship Development Amina Bashir Tukur, welcomed the Women Entrepreneurs Nigeria, Adamawa State chapter, appreciated the visit asking them to closeranks by supporting each other.
Amina Bashir, thanked them for their additional commitment to youth and women in the society and their resilience despite all odds. Urged, the women not to relent in areas of their duties both in Entrepreneurship and at homes.
