Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has inaugurated Adamawa State Human Development Council.
Performing the event, Friday in his Office, Government House Yola, Governor Fintiri said that the inauguration marks a very important step forward of his Government commitment towards fostering growth and development of the State through the empowerment and nurturing of the State most important resources which is the People.
Governor Fintiri said the entire policy of his government is for the betterment of the citizenry. "The whole essence of our policies, projects and programmes such as inclusive governance, security, of lives and property, peace building, payment of WAEC fees, construction of Cottage hospitals, skills acquisition for our youths and so on, are all targeted at improving the living standards of our people", Governor Fintiri said.
"We recognize that a well-educated, healthy and skilled population is the foundation of a thriving economy and harmonious society".
The Governor disclosed that in his first tenure, his government has appointed a Focal Person to drive Human Capital Development in the State and also set up a Technical Working Group to that effect.
Adding that the Human Capital Development Council will oversee all Human Capital Development activities in the state and will be Chaired by the Deputy Governor, Prof.Kaletapwa George Farauta.
He called on the Council Members to approach their roles with dedication, innovation and deep sense of responsibility.
"We must work collaboratively, drawing on the expertise and experience of each member, to develop and implement policies and programmes that make tangible difference in the lives of our people", Governor Fintiri charged the Council Members.
Responding, Chairman of the Adamawa State Human Capital Development Council, Prof. Kaletapwa George Farauta thanked Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for finding them worthy to serve the State. She assured to bring all the experiences they have for the success of the mission for the creation of the Council.
Those inaugurated are: Prof. Kaletapwa George Farauta as the Chairman, while the Commissioner of Education Dr Umar Garba Pella, Commissioner of Budget and Economy Planning Anthony Emmanuel, Commissioner of Health Felix Tangwami and Commissioner of Enterpreneurship Iliya James would served as members.
