Deputy Governor Enjoins NBA to Maintain it's Stance as Last Hope for the Common Man.

Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Professor Keletapwa George Faurata, has tasked members of Nigeria Bar Association to remain focused in sustaining the confidence of judiciary as the last hope of the common man.

The Deputy Governor while addressing members of the Nigeria Bar Association at the Emergency Executive Council (NEC) meeting held at AUN Club Hall Yola, on Saturday, 20th April, 2024, thanked members of the Association for choosing Yola as the venue of the meeting.

Farauta said the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting is coming at a time that the legal profession as well as the judiciary is faced with enormous task while playing critical roles in the county's social, economic and political lives.

According to Farauta, "your profession now serves as the fulcrum round which the country's revolves. Therefore, you must exhibit the highest sense of sensitivity, decorum, professionalism as well as ethical standards in consonance with the dictates of your noble profession". 

"I urged you to help in sustaining the confidence in the judiciary as the last hope of the common man. Let justice be done and let justice be seen to be done". Professor Farauta said.

The National President, Nigerian Bar Association Yakubu Maikyau SAN noted that the Emergency National Executive Council meeting convened by the Nigerian Bar Association is aimed at deliberating on issues that has to do with matters of the Association and its way forward that will help sustain as well as promote the rule of law. 

"As people we promote the rule of law, which means the law and the rules are what govern us and we subject ourselves to it, we have decisions that we need to take and unless this body gives us permission to do those things, we cannot do them.

He appreciated Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for good Governance and his unwavering commitment towards all sectors especially infrastructure, health, education amongst others for the benefits of the citizens.

The State Chief Judge, Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman appreciated community members as well as encouraged them to come up with decisions that will further enhance the relevance of the Bar, as it is the hope for the common man.
