Commissioner  for Commerce, Trade and Industry , Doctor Ishaya John Dabari, said traders at both Shopping Complex and Jimeta Ultra Modern market would benefit from the two weeks extension period approved by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

The Commissioner stated this at an interview in his office urged traders at both markets to take advantage of the two weeks extension to complete all processes to enable them relocate to the proposed temporary site at Fallujah Market.

 He said at the expiration of the extension period government will take over the market. 

Dr, Dabari said the extension period was approved by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri following appeals by the traders and stakeholders to enable the traders to complete formalities for smooth relocation.

He expressed delight over the level of compliance by the traders that have obtained forms while working on their relocation to the temporary site adding that so far about sixty percent of traders have complied.

Dr Dabari stressed that at the expiration of the two weeks extension period, work on remodelling of the market will commence and noted that the Mubi roundabout flyover will extend to the market thereby affecting parts of the shops hence the need for prompt evacuation.

He used the opportunity to announce that traders at the Jimeta Ultra Modern market that have erected shades that blocked passage at the market would also enjoy the two weeks extension period.

Also speaking at the Jimeta Shopping Complex, Chairman of Relocation of Traders to Fallujah Market, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Jambo said at the moment one thousand four hundred and seventy four traders have paid and collected forms for a space at the Fallujah Market.

He noted that Yola North local government has made available about four thousand spaces for shops at the Fallujah Market and appealed to traders to comply with the directive.

The Chairman said the initial request by traders was extension period of about two months as some traders are faced with alot of financial challenges that is delaying their quick relocation. 

Correspondent reports that traders were seen working hard to obtain their allocation forms while others are erecting structure for their trade at the temporary site.
